DDIM -Double Degree in International Management- with Fudan School of Management
The DDIM is a challenging two-year programme for graduate students, entirely taught in English.
After its completion, students will obtain two degrees: a Laurea Magistrale in General Management awarded by LUISS University and the equivalent of a Chinese Master’s Degree (Suoshi) in International Business awarded by Fudan School of Management.
The DDIM consists of two years: the first year being delivered at the FDSM in Shanghai and the second at LUISS in Rome, with reciprocal participation by the academic staffs.
The Programme was born in the frame of the “Campus Italo-cinese”, a project sponsored by the Italian Ministry of Higher Education, and jointly organized by Fudan SoM, LUISS and Bocconi.
Academic vision
The DDIM develops specific knowledge in the areas of business management, financial analysis and competitive dynamics applied to companies and executive consulting firms operating at an international level. The major fields of study reflect the international focus of the programme and the labor market segments where demand for highly specialized professionals is high.
The DDIM class and its academic staff is composed by both Chinese and Italian students and professors. Thanks to its high international exposure, DDIM students are required to acquire a true multicultural backgrounds with a specific Chinese perspective and a richer analytical approach crucial for today’s global business world.
Graduates will be management professionals. They can qualify as specialists in management and control in private companies, especially relating to internationalization processes, innovation projects, financial operations and management in the luxury and fashion and tourist fields. They can hold a professional role in executive consulting firms and management tasks companies operating in industrial and service industries that are oriented towards high-end innovation and international growth.

Eligibility
For a.y. 2012-2013 participation to the DDIM programme is open to :
- LUISS“LAUREANDI”STUDENTS, handling their Degree Request to the Student Office by May 2012, enrolled in the 3rd year of any Bachelor Programme at the Departments of Economics and Finance or Business and Management
- LUISS GRADUATES holding a Bachelor degree from the Faculty of Economics or from the Departments of Economics and Finance or Business and Management
NEW! “LAUREANDI” STUDENTS AND GRADUATES FROM OTHER UNIVERSITIES in Economics, Engineering , Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Natural Sciences, with the same academic requirements as LUISS students and graduates and subject to the fulfillment of the minimum academic requirements to sit the LUISS Admission test (see next paragraph).
Please note that applications from students holding only Chinese citizenship cannot be accepted for DDIM programme.
Pre-Admission Requirements (required to all students)
- Very Good knowledge of the English Language (to be proved by providing an official certificate –TOEFL, IELTS- or by a University Transcripts or Certificate with EU framework level reference)
- Students with a minimum weighted GPA of 26,50/30 and obtaining their Bachelor degree by July 2012
or
- Graduates with a minimum final score of 100/110
Application Procedure
- LUISS students and graduates:
In order to apply for DDIM programme LUISS students and graduates are required to handle the following documents to the International Development Office – Ufficio Sviluppo Internazionale - by May 7 at 12:00 a.m.:
- DDIM Application form
- One letter of recommendation in English written by a professor, teaching assistant or internship tutor
- Motivation letter in English
- Certificate proving a very good knowledge of the English language (see previous paragraph)
- For Laureandi applicants: latest transcript from self-service kiosks (in Italian: “Esami sostenuti/da sostenere con media”
- For Graduate applicants: transcript of records with indication of the Degree final grade.
- 2 passport-size photos (with your name written on the back)
- Curriculum Vitae in English
- Copy of valid passport (please note that the copy can be submitted after the deadline but not later than the interview, since passport is required in order to get the Chinese VISA)
- Students and graduates from other universities:
“Laureandi” students and graduates from other universities willing to apply for DDIM programme are required to take the Admission Test on next May 25th 2012, applying for the Master’s Degree in General Management and opting for the Double Degree in International Management with Fudan School of Management in Shanghai.
In order to complete their application for DDIM programme they are requested to submit the following documents to the International Development Office – Ufficio Sviluppo Internazionale by May 21 at 12:00 a.m.:

Selection process
Students selection is carried out through the not disputable evaluation of an Academic Commission nominated by the Department Director.
The selection follows a 2 step process:
Step 1: The eligible candidates will be ranked after the analysis of their academic performance (credits and weighted grade point average), the analysis of the motivation and recommendation letter.
The Academic Commission will rank eligible students and create the short list for the next step.
Step 2: The interview, which will be held in English or Italian, will be carried out by a member/members of the Academic Commission. The interview will focus on motivation and student background and is a key part of the selection process. In case a candidate is not considered suitable for the programme, he/she will not be selected regardless of the academic performance, the positioning in the applicants ranking and the number of available slots.
Moreover, other international certificates , knowledge of other languages, previous international experience are examples of information that will not provide additional points during the selection process, but could be considered as strength points in the students' profile.
Results
The selection results will be published online . Selected students will be required to confirm their acceptance through written notification. In case of refusal or missing notification by the established deadline, the following candidate in order of waiting list will be recalled.
Recalled students will be requested to confirm their participation by written notice. After this timing, the following candidate in order of waiting list will be recalled.
The list of selected candidates is considered provisional until the obtainment of the Bachelor Degree by the selected candidates and the enrolment (iscrizione alla frequenza) through the Student Office (Segreteria Studenti) by July 4th to the LUISS Master’s Degree in General Management.
Candidates selected for this programme will thus be requested to enrol to the Master Degree in General Management, or they will lose the right to enrol to LUISS at the Master level.

*Admitted students will be required to formalize their participation to the programme proceeding with the formal enrolment (iscrizione alla frequenza) to the Master's Degree in General Management by 4th July 2012 (completing the Student Office form and paying the first installment).
Stay at Fudan
Students are supported by the programme coordinators throughout all their preparation and stay abroad. Moreover, a tutor permanently placed in Shanghai will provide them a continuous assistance.
In particular, students are assisted in the following:
- Filling up and preparing all documents required for their formal acceptance at Fudan University and to get the Chinese VISA.
- Finding an Accommodation, Logistics and Orientation in Shanghai.
- Obtaining a Chinese student residence permit when in China.
- Providing a network of companies operating in Asia and available to host students for a Summer internship.
Study Plan
Please note:
LUISS will convert the grades of the courses taken at Fudan and mentioned in the section Study Plan for LUISS Students according to the ECTS table which the students will receive before the departure.
- Fudan will convert the grades of the courses taken at LUISS mentioned in the section Study Plan for LUISS Students according to its own conversion table.
Chinese language course
DDIM Students are required to attend a Chinese language course during their year in Shanghai. The course will provide a basic knowledge of the local language and facilitate communication with persons outside the university campus.
Thesis info

- The thesis will be one for both institutions
- Students will be required to have one supervisor at LUISS + one supervisor at Fudan
- The thesis will be developed according to the rules in terms of technical characteristics set by LUISS and Fudan
- Students will be required to be compliant with the LUISS procedures in order to discuss the thesis at LUISS during one among the available graduation sessions
- Students will be required to be compliant with the Fudan procedures in order to apply for the Chinese degree
